- Not all therapists provide all styles of massage. Also, most massage sessions truly involve a client-specific combination of techniques/styles to achieve the desired results. Generally the therapist joins together a variety of techniques to best serve the client.
- Swedish Massage: the traditional Western massage; an overall relaxing, stress relieving, therapeutic massage style. Techniques used include: kneading, percussion, rolling, vibration and tapping.
- Deep Tissue: releases chronic tension patterns in the body via slow and deep pressure strokes.
- Trigger Point Therapy: pinpoints the painful knots in muscles. The therapist applies compression pressure to points, then massages and stretches the muscles. After the points release, the pain associated with them can be greatly relieved.
- Thai Massage: traditional Thai massage, done on the floor on mats, focuses on circulation, flexibility and energy points. Expect plenty of stretching as we adapt Thai techniques for the massage table.
- Integrative Massage: More than incorporating a wide variety of techniques, this massage holds full body integration and connection as the main goa.
- Sports Massage: techniques which can provide warm-up and cool-down for pre- and post events. Can reduce injuries and decrease inflammation and recovery time. Techniques range from Swedish to deep tissue to pressure point work.
